KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 — A man sodomised his 23-day-old son yesterday after his wife refused to have sex, according to police sources. Harian Metro reported this morning that the mother found injuries on the baby’s anus and mouth when she was bathing him yesterday evening. She had earlier refused to have sex with her 28-year-old husband since she had given birth three weeks ago.
“The mother was shocked to see the mouth bruised. She examined it further and found the anus injured as well,” the police source said. The 39-year-old mother only noticed at 4pm that the baby was weak and listless when she bathed the child.
The incident has sparked outrage among Malaysians who have called the man a “sick bastard” on Twitter.
Police believe the man bruised the toddler’s mouth when trying to stop him from crying during the sexual assault. He is believed to have sodomised the baby in the bedroom while his wife was resting in the living room. The source said that without her husband’s knowledge, the mother took the baby from the family’s home in Batu Caves to a nearby clinic. She was then referred to Hospital Selayang.

“Furious with her husband, she lodged a report at the Selayang police station,” the source was quoted as saying by the Malay tabloid. Police arrested the man at about 8pm at his residence. He is expected to be remanded for four days. The newspaper added that Gombak police chief Abdul Rahim Abdullah confirmed the suspect’s detention. The suspect is being investigated under Section 377 of the Penal Code which relates to unnatural sexual acts.
